St. Ignatius The Martyr Parish History


Our parish was established by Archbishop Lemeiux on July 9, 1959.
From 1959 to 1961 the parish masses were held at Rideau High School until the church was built on Donald Street.
Our first pastor was Father Raymond Burke. The Church on Donald Street was blessed October 1961.
